Flattened Rice ( Poha)
   
   

Ingredients

2         cups poha
1         cup frozen peas
½         teaspoon chili powder  (according to taste)
1          teaspoon salt (according to taste)
¼         teaspoon turmeric powder
1          tablespoon sugar
½         teaspoon cumin seeds
3          tablespoons oil
2          teaspoons chopped green pepper (according to taste)
3          tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
1          tablespoon lemon juice
            5 to 6 currypatta

   

Step 1
Clean the poha and wash them 4 to 5 times until all the water runs clear. Soak them for about 10 minutes with very little water.
  

Step 2
In a 2 quart glass bowl, add oil, cumin seeds, curry patta, peas and green pepper.
  

Step 3
...peas and green pepper.
  

Step 4
Cover and cook for 3 minutes.
  

Step 5
In the soaked poha mix chili powder, salt, turmeric, and sugar. Add this mixture to the peas.
  

Step 6
Mix well cover and cook for 5 minutes.
  

Step 7
Remove from microwave, mix the lemon juice, garnish with coriander leaves. Serve warm with fresh lemon(optional).
